Run by volunteers
Every coach, every team manager, every line marked on a Sunday morning. Hornets runs because people give up their time to run it.
About the club
Aspatria Hornets is a volunteer-run amateur rugby league club, from the Under 5s through to open age.
Most people know Hornets for the rugby — ten teams running out week after week, from the Under 5s through to the first team.
The rest of it is the part that keeps people here. The same faces on the touchline every week, the lifts sorted out between parents, the age group that grows up together and stays together.
Every bit of it is run by volunteers. Several of our coaches look after three or four age groups between them, and the committee do it around full-time jobs. That is what more than a rugby club means here — not what the club owns, but who turns up.

Every coach, every team manager, every line marked on a Sunday morning. Hornets runs because people give up their time to run it.
New players are welcome at every age group the club runs, whatever their experience. Turn up, have a go, see how you get on.
Players make friends, parents make friends, and plenty of people stay involved long after their own children have moved up. That is the bit that makes it a club.
Hornets is run by a volunteer committee. If you need to speak to someone about a specific part of the club, start with the right person here.
